Types

     

  1. Knitted – is a strong quality shadecloth constructed with a combination of monofilament yarns and knitted construction and gives excellent "burst" strength and tear resistance. Knitted shadecloth has deeper cross sectional construction resulting in greater variations of shade factor throughout the hours of the day. It is available in a variety of colours and shade factors ranging from 30% shade to 90% shade.

    Some of the advantages of knitted shadecloth are:

    • it resists fraying and unravelling when cut
    • it gives excellent "burst" strength and tear resistance
    • a good variety of colours, particularly in the 70% and 90% shade

     

  2. Woven – is constructed from monofilament yarns in a two dimensional profile that results in more consistent shade, irrespective of the sun's angle.

    Some of the advantages of woven shadecloth are:

    • Cost effective
    • Uniform control of shade
    • Lighter fabric allows for lower construction cost

Applications for Shadecloth

Home and Domestic – ideal for patios, courtyards, privacy screens, dog kennels, ferneries, caravan annexes, barbeque areas, carports, aviaries and swimming pool shading.

Horticulture – shadecloth coverings for indoor plant and shrub nurseries; hydroponics; vegetables; fruit and flowers. It is also suitable as a windbreak.

Commercial / Industrial – as safety enclosures and protection around industrial sites and building construction, hail protection for car yards and glasshouses, privacy and visual landscaping for factory and office complexes

Sport and Leisure – wind sheltering for tennis courts, shading for restaurants, resorts and surrounds for bowling greens.
